Just in case it took too long to already brush your teeth, there is a new Blizzident toothbrush that is 3D and is set to clean your teeth in just six seconds. ComputerWorld reported on Oct. 2, 2013, that 3D printing has given high-tech corporations the ability to create a new 3D toothbrush that could change the world.
The American Dental Association recommends that you brush your teeth for two minutes with a standard toothbrush. The Blizzident toothbrush has 400 bristles and they will be put directly onto a mold of each person's mouth. Users will bite down, grind their teeth around, and be done in six seconds.
The new Blizzident toothbrush is said to eliminate any type of brushing errors that people make with a typical toothbrush. More research is needed, but it is said that this could help get all the spots normally missed.
"Because you are brushing all your teeth at the same time, you are brushing extremely quickly," the company says.
"You brush all the difficult-to-reach and interdental regions without even having to think about it."
Blizzident says that each of their toothbsushes can last as long as a year.
"The bristles are tailored and positioned on every single tooth in a way so they are brushing with the "Modified Bass and Fones" techniques simply by biting and grinding for a few seconds," Blizzident explained. "Modified 'Bass"' and 'Fones' techniques are recommended by dentists and prophylaxis assistants worldwide."
The company states that any dentist can make an impression or digital scan of a person's teeth for $100-$200. From there, the digital 3D model would be added to Blizzident's site, and the toothbrush can be created with their 3D printed.
The first Blizzident toothbrush would sell for $299 with annual replacements costing $159. Blizzident also said they will replace the bristles in an existing toothbrush for just $89.
