Update 2/10/14: Misty has been adopted!

The first of February may have started like most other days for Misty...but quickly, what was normal became anything but.

On that day, just one week ago, the nine-year-old, English springer spaniel was loaded into the family car and brought to the Los Angeles County Animal Care and Control facility in Baldwin Park, Calif.

Misty, who is blind, was left at the facility with strangers after her former owners drove away.

Today, the blind senior is waiting behind bars for someone to notice her, and to offer her a home.
