Blind Obedience from 'Gatecrash' revealed (Photos)

Blind Obedience is one of the newest "Magic: The Gathering" cards spoiled today Jan. 14, 2013 from Wizards of the Coast's upcoming expert expansion set "Gatecrash." Revealed in an article by Mark Rosewater on MagicTheGathering.com, Blind Obedience is a must-run enchantment for any player wanting to build an Extort deck.

Blind Obedience - 1W
Enchantment (Rare)
Extort
Artifacts and creatures your opponents control enter the battlefield tapped.

"By the time your knees have worn through your robe, you may have begun to learn your place."

Unlike Thrull Parasite or Syndic of Tithes, Blind Obedience can't be killed by a burn spell like Searing Spear or commonly played removal such as Dreadbore or Ultimate Price. Other than Abrupt Decay, Oblivion Ring, and Detention Sphere there isn't that much enchantment removal currently floating around in Standard, making the chances your Blind Obedience will stick around on the battlefield relatively high.

Blind Obedience can significantly slow down your opponents, preventing them from attacking with their haste creatures. Right now Blind Obedience buys you time to deal deal with several significant threats in the format: Carnival Hellsteed, Strangleroot Geist, Dreg Mangler, Falkenrath Aristocrat, and Thundermaw Hellkite.

Because your opponent's creatures enter the battlefield tapped, they'll also be playing catchup on blockers. That Yeva, Nature's Herald or Restoration Angel in their hand will begin to look a lot less attractive.

It's in multiplayer games where Blind Obedience really shines though. That's because it says opponents, and not just opponent. Combined with the awesome life gain from Extort, Blind Obedience is a prime inclusion in many Commander decks.

How will you use Blind Obedience?
