Update 7/4/14: Ace has been adopted!!

A young, "differently-abled" pit bull is waiting for someone to take a chance on him in Long Island, N.Y.

Ace is just a year-and-a-half of age and he has been waiting for over five months at the Brookhaven Shelter, where he was taken after being picked up as a stray by a good Samaritan who found him running on a busy highway.

Ace is "differently-abled" because he is both blind, and deaf. Despite the lack of those senses, he manages to maneuver through his environment amazingly well thanks to a keen sense of smell.

Ace is an incredible dog who is described as friendly with everyone that he meets - from children, to cats and dogs. Aside from his lack of vision and hearing, Ace is described as "perfect." He has been described as "well-balanced," and he already knows many obedience commands, including sit and down.

Ace's time without a home, and a family, has continued for too long already - he needs and deserves to be in a home with someone who will appreciate him for the fabulous dog that he is.

Please take a moment to network Ace's information:

  • Questions or inquiries can be directed to Ace's advocate at 631-833-0970, or email aboyd@brookhaven.org
