Looking for a best furry friend? Or how about just something fun to do today with the one you’ve already got? Check out the Blessing of the Animals and “Adoption A-fair” from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. today at Rancho Coastal Humane Society in Encinitas.
The family-friendly event celebrates Memorial Day, the human-animal bond, and Rancho Coastal Humane Society’s 50 years of “nurturing animals in need.”
- Meet local animal rescue groups with lots of adoptable pets
- Get pet care tips at Ask the Vet and Ask the Trainer booths
- Buy low-cost microchips and vaccines for Fido or Fluffy
- Enjoy flyball demonstrations, face painting, bounce houses, birthday cake, snacks, refreshments, and info from pet-related exhibitors
At 2:30 p.m. Pastor Laura of Bethlehem Lutheran will conduct an ecumenical blessing of the animals, welcoming all family pets and all religions.
