The beloved Nelson Mandela lived a life that has touched and influenced many. He was courageous and was an example of strength. He fought the good fight of faith. His persistence and perseverance have resonated with people around the world. He showed how to triumph regardless of very negative circumstances. Longsuffering marked his life while enduring the loss of freedom for many years. He came forth as one not forgetting the dreams for his people, but the timing came for their fulfillment. Mandela’s longevity and contributions to all are to be celebrated unto God.
What can one learn from the public figure, Nelson Mandela? He taught steadfastness and a type of leadership that serves the needs of his followers even at high cost to self. This sounds like Jesus. Jesus came to sacrifice his life for others. His dream was for the people of many nations to have salvation. He came to fulfill promises and establish the only way to Father God. Freedom from sin was His goal. Jesus set the example for others to follow.
