There's a blast from the past coming to Universal Orlando Resort: Cabana Bay, the all-new resort with a retro feel and very affordable prices. This new hotel will be the fourth on-site property, with reasonable rates for its rooms and suites and a plethora of on-site options for fun. Zip down a water slide, bowl a few games, or just hang out around the huge zero entry pool. There's even a Jack LaLanne Fitness Center to help you stay in shape in case you head over to Springfield at Universal Studios Florida and eat a few of the Homer-sized donuts.
The hotel's first guests will arrive on March 31, when the first phase opens. They'll have the convenience of being able to walk to the parks or take shuttle buses. They'll also get early admission to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter one hour before the park opens to day guests. However, they won't get Express access to the lines like the other three resorts. That's not a bad trade-off, considering the moderate hotel rates that start as low as $93 in the fall off-season.
Watch for a first-hand review of the hotel coming next week. In the meantime, check out the video accompanying this article that features the media presentation from last year when hotel details were announced.
