Blaney, TBR to run No. 7 in 2013

Paying homage to one of the great modified drivers of all time, Tommy Baldwin Racing will switch from No. 36 to No. 7 beginning with the 2013 Daytona 500. The switch honors the late Tom Baldwin Sr., father of team owner Tommy Baldwin Jr.; Baldwin Sr., of Bellport, New York, competed in the NASCAR Modified Division as No. 7NY. Baldwin Jr. got his start in racing working on his father’s cars.

"It is a very special moment today to announce the No. 7 on our Chevrolet SS,” said Baldwin Jr. in a press release. “The number has been in the Baldwin family for a long time and it is going to be pretty special to carry on that legacy in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series."

1995 World of Outlaws Sprint Car champ Dave Blaney returns to the No. 7 in 2013. In two full-time seasons with TBR, Blaney earned a third-place finish at Talladega Superspeedway in October 2011, and has led laps at both Daytona and Talladega the past two seasons.
