Blake Shelton headed to New York for a performance at Madison Square Garden and brought along some friends to make his big show even bigger. CMT reported on Aug. 4, 2014 that the country boy from Oklahoma brought his charm to the stage and had 18,000 screaming fans on their feet for his big city “Ten Times Crazier Tour” stop that happened on Aug. 1, 2014.
Shelton had the duo Dan+Shay start things up for his Madison Square Garden performance. They were followed up by The Band Perry who brought their number one hits "Better Dig Two" and "If I Die Young" to life on stage for the crowd. Neal McCoy took over after The Band Perry and brought his early hits with him.
McCoy also added some new music by performing his latest single "Can You Do This" during his performance and talked about his friendship with Shelton and his country hit maker wife Miranda Lambert by letting the crowd know he performed at the couples wedding.
Shelton took the stage and got things started with his very fitting hit "All About Tonight" and kept things rolling by performing "The More I Drink." Shelton shared his excitement to be on stage by saying “I'm a country singer. How the hell did I end up playing at Madison Square Garden?" and admitted to his fans "I am freaking out!"
Shelton brought his humor to the stage by wearing a cowboy hat with his former long hair included and got personal with the crowd when he described the songs "Over You" and "Austin" as "the two most important songs of my life." Shelton and Lambert were co-writers on "Over You" which was written about Shelton’s late brother while "Austin" was the first single released by Shelton and it was also his first song to reach the number one spot.am “The Voice.” Little Big Town Little Big Town will be joining Shelton as Team Blake’s adviser when the show kicks off September 22, 2014 on NBC.
