Blake Shelton will offer fans a new album “Bringing Back the Sunshine” this fall. The country singer has been hard at work on his latest project during the down time from NBC’s “The Voice,” where Shelton has consistently been a mentor since season 1 in 2011.
The cover art is a black and white photo of a water tower in Ada, Oklahoma, the town where Blake Shelton was born. It’s unknown at this time whether this album will feature songs that are about the singer’s hometown or childhood years or if the image is simply a tribute to where he got his start. Blake Shelton still resides in Oklahoma with his wife Miranda Lambert. The couple lives in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, which is about 40 miles from Blake Shelton’s birthplace.
“Bringing Back the Sunshine” will be Blake Shelton’s eleventh studio album. His most recent previous album “Based On A True Story.” The highly successful album debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart in March of 2013 and sold 200,000 copies right out of the starting gate. The album has since sold over one million copies and has been officially certified Platinum by the RIAA.
“Based On A True Story” has released five singles to radio and all have charted in the top five of Billboard’s Hot Country Songs. Furthermore, those same five songs all hit #1 on Billboard’s Country Airplay Chart. The singles include “Sure Be Cool If You Did,” “Boys 'Round Here,” “Mine Would Be You,” “Doin' What She Likes” and the most recent hit which features former “The Voice” contestant, Gwen Sebastian, “My Eyes”
If Blake Shelton’s new album “Bringing Back the Sunshine” even just equals the success of his last project, let alone surpasses it, it will be quite a feat. Between a streak of top ten songs that dates all the way back to 2008, his increased popularity due to his stint on “The Voice,” his vocal partnering with fellow “The Voice” mentors Christina Aguilera and Shakira, his marriage to five time ACM Female Vocalist of the Year Miranda Lambert and his constant popular Twitter stream, Blake Shelton seems to be at the peak of his career.
Fans who can’t wait to get a jump on “Bringing Back the Sunshine” can pre-order Blake Shelton’s new album exclusively through Walmart.
