Blake Shelton will be co-hosting the 2013 ACM Awards, but not with Reba McEntire. The country music diva won’t be in the building after more than a decade of hosting due to work commitments. While the disappointment of the fans has got to be understood, Blake Shelton is looking for a new co-host. Admitting that it will be impossible to fill McEntire’s shoes, Shelton revealed that the bar has been lowered.
“We set the bar a little bit lower,” said Blake Shelton on the process of finding a co-host. “If we can just get somebody that can read. Well you know this is country music.”
As the date of the award show and the co-host have yet to be revealed, it’s pretty obvious that Blake Shelton is looking to find a partner in crime on stage. Suggesting the new co-host is a fan favorite and the celebrity has been creeping into his starlight, it could be anyone in country music.
“It’s desperate times and I had to take what I could get,” said Blake Shelton about the situation.
The fans are encouraged to tweet that a new co-host has been found and once over 25,000 people have shared the message on Twitter the announcement will be revealed.
While that still hasn't happened, it’s possible to wager a guess on Blake Shelton’s co-host might be. If living in Las Vegas, it would be a good bet to put money on Miranda Lambert as that’s the most logical choice. However there are other possibles including Kelly Clarkson, Keith Urban or Brad Paisley. The decision will be revealed soon and fans will be delighted to find out who is taking Reba McEntire's place on stage.
