Blake Shelton doesn't plan on doing more TV once 'The Voice' wraps up

NASHVILLE, Tenn., March 5, 2013 - Reinging CMA Entertainer of the Year Blake Shelton recently guest starred on Malibu Country, alongside Country music legend Reba McEntire, portraying the red-head's little brother. While Shelton greatly enjoyed his debut acting gig, he doesn't plan on doing much script-based TV in the near future. "It ties you into L.A. for a week," Shelton tells The Boot. "You do a read-through on a Friday, and then you rehearse Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and film it Thursday ... and you're right back doing the next show the next day."

He did enjoy hanging out with the show's cast, he asserts. "It was amazing to just see that world and see how they work," he continues, smiling ear-to-ear. "It's a lot of just goofing off, but you've got to be a good goofer to do it right, and they've got the right ones."

Currently, Shelton is a judge and mentor on NBC's hit reality TV show The Voice, and he's looking forward to taking a break from the small screen and returning to the stage. "As soon as the leash gives me a little slack from 'The Voice,' I'm going straight back into touring," he says. "I can't see myself going from 'The Voice' into more television. I think there will at least be a break there."

The Voice's highly anticipated season 4 returns on March 25 with newcomers Usher and Shakira replacing previous panel members Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green. Meanwhile, Shelton drops his new full-length studio album, Based on a True Story..., on March 26. His current single "Sure Be Cool If You Did" is on the cusp of becoming his newest No. 1 Country hit.
