The making of Vocal Kombat, the Super Bowl commercial for NBC’s popular hit reality show The Voice has all four judges of the show involved in some major stunt work. The celebrities of the show came together to talk behind the scenes involvement on the commercial on Monday with Blake Shelton dishing that he would have never suspected to be in a Super Bowl commercial.
“I never really saw myself doing a Super Bowl promo," said Blake Shelton. “I certainly didn't expect a Voice commercial for the Super Bowl, but now that we are doing it, and in the process of doing it right now...I really think this could be the best Super Bowl commercial of all time.”
The idea behind the ad was to have the four judges go after each other once they all hear the most beautiful voice. Whoever gets there first would have the chance to have the singer on their team. Fighting and punching while trying to maneuver each other the entire sequence gets intense and the person who is singing is a completely shocking celebrity that nobody would have considered.
Produced by Peter Berg, the stuntmen on the set were from big movies and are the people who are called in to film action sequences. Watching the Super Bowl commercial there isn’t any doubt the skills used for the ad were useful to make a point.
Take a look at the video clip of the behind the scenes efforts of making Vocal Kombat. It definitely caught the attention of America during the Super Bowl.
