Actress Blake Lively was attacked by a swarm of bees during a photo shoot on her birthday. The actress, who is probably best known for her role on “Gossip Girls” from 2007 to 2012, had no idea what was attacking her. She conveys that whatever type of insects they were, they knew how to inflict pain.
According to ABC News on Aug 29, Lively said she didn’t know enough about the insect world to call these insects’ bees, wasps or hornets. One minute she was posing and the next minute she was jumping around with her hands in the air screaming. She said she looked as if she were in a “Monty Python” sketch.
The actress wrote about the ordeal weaving comedy in between the lines on her website Preserve. She explained there was a “terrible sound piercing the air,” but later learned it was her screams! The Huffington Post refers to her website as Lively “recently made a ‘creepy’ lifestyle blog.”
She writes that she was running at her “top speed” in “no particular direction” trying to get away from the stinging insects. She was not only left shaken from the experience, but she was also swollen, so she had to stop what she was doing and take some time to recuperate.
After the bee swarm, Lively decorated a cake with all her favorite cake accessories like sprinkles and icing. She was going to celebrate her birthday bee stings or no bee stings. She took a few minutes to reflect on the bees and how her life will change as she gets older. She’s 27, but she said “that it took a swarm of bees to remind me that a b-day is nothing but a number.”
