Blair Academy defeats Woodson High School

Blair Academy defeated Woodson High School (from Washington, DC) 57-45 in the New Years Resolution Girls' High School Basketball Tournament.

Blair started the game off strong, having a lead of 12-2 with 4:15 left in the first quarter. Sadie Edwards is a great scorer. She can artistically attack the basket and has a sharp and fast spin move that freezes defenders. She finished with 6 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 assist, and 24 points.

Woodson called time out and regrouped.They came back and at the end of the first quarter they only trailed by three points, 17-14.

Woodson's Erin Blaine is great at drawing fouls. She finished with 4 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 assist, and 21 points. Blair led at the half 24-23.

With 3:36 left in the tird quarter, Woodson tied it up, 33-33. Blair's Samantha Hill contributed to bringing the ball up and playing strong defense. She finished with 6 rebounds, 4 steals, and 9 points.
