BlacKOut Fighting Championship returns to GFL as it presents "BlacKOut Fighting Championship 16" emanating from Carthage, Missouri on January 18. This event is scheduled to be a mega card with 20 fights and 5 title fights as BFC continues to up the ante with every show.
In the main event, for the Women's BlacKOut Bantamweight Championship, Champion Blair Patton (2-0) fights Tabby Patterson (3-2). Patton is undefeated and has shown a devastating submission game in the past. Patterson is a feared all-around fighter and can end the fight with a single punch or submission attempt. Expect fireworks from these women as they anchor a tremendous card with gold on the line.
In other title fights, BFC Straweight Champion Kendrick Latchman (10-3) battles Demario Cade (9-2). Latchman is the most accomplished Straweight in BFC history and he won the title after a grueling war that went until the final bell. Latchman is a solid wrestler and can usually impose his will on his opponent and get the fight to the ground when he needs to. Cade is on a 2-fight win streak and can match intensity with anyone. He has held several titles in the past and is looking for another one on January 18. Expect Cade to come out swinging but if the fight goes to the ground, he will be just as comfortable as his submissions are tremendous.
The Interim BFC Lightweight Championship is on the line when Michael Heckert (3-1) fights David Woodall (6-1). Heckert is the #1 Contender and has proven himself in BFC with an impressive first round submission in his last outing. Woodall also is coming off a submission victory in his last fight in November. These two grapplers will have to let their hands go as their ground game could be even.
The vacant BFC Welterweight Title pits Patrick Garcia (8-4) against Brian Hill (9-1). Garcia is on a 3-fight win streak, all by stoppages and Hill already has a title to his credit. Don't blink as the winner of this bout will be the king of the 170 lb division.
Finally for the BFC Bantamweight Title, Champion Hector Arteaga (9-3) fights Bryle Martin (7-3). Arteaga has proven he will fight anyone and won the title in stunning fashion with a slick submission out of nowhere. Martin has never gone to decision in his whole career and is always in the hunt for fight of the night. Look for Martin to take some risks and put the heat on Arteaga early.
