BlackBerry isn't giving up just yet, and they are going to put everything into what may end up be their last-ditch effort. Bloomberg reported on Sept. 18, 2013, that the BlackBerry Z30 has been introduced with a five-inch display, stereo speakers, a bigger battery, and the latest version of its BlackBerry 10 operating system.
The BlackBerry Z30 used to be known as the BlackBerry A10 when it was originally in development. CEO Thorsten Heins has hinted at this new phone for quite some time, and it is set to be the newest flagship smartphone above the Z10 and Q10.
The first quarter for BlackBerry was absolutely horrible and it saw a disappointing number of BlackBerry 10 devices sold. Next week, the second quarter fiscal reports are set to come out and there are reports of possible layoffs.
With the recent releases of the iPhone 5C, iPhone 5S, and Samsung Galaxy S4; BlackBerry is looking for any possible way to salvage the company. They are hoping that the BlackBerry Z30 is it.
Other new additions and implementations for the BlackBerry Z30:
- 1.7-gighertz processor
- Quad-core graphics
- 2,880 mAh battery - 25 hours of mixed use
- Stereo speakers
- Paratek Antenna technology
- BlackBerry 10.2 software
