Senior Vice President of Design for Research In Motion, Todd Wood, was chosen as one of the top 20 designers in the world to create a new look for the classic "Julian" chair. His design, which was auctioned off on January 26th with proceeds benefitting ONEXONE, is featured to your left.
Todd's design, known as the "Power Pup," is in the shape of a dog and adds an extra feature that allows you to place your BlackBerry Bold 9900 inside its mouth for a battery charging.
If you're unfamiliar with Todd Wood, he and his team are the ones behind the sleek chic look of most of the BlackBerry devices you're familiar with today. Other pieces of his work have been featured in the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and even on a few Canadian postage stamps.
Wood teamed up with ONEXONE, a non-profit foundation that is commited to improving the lives of children in the US, Canada, and Haiti by focusing on 5 aspects of life that are essential for the overall well-being of children, Water, hunger, healthcare, education, and play. More information on the organization can be found at the link above.
