"Twilight" parodies are a dime a dozen, but we've got the winner here!
This past week, the "Twilight" parodies have been pouring in from every conceivable source. We've had stuff from Jimmy Fallon, Conan O'Brien, Saturday Night Live, random readers, schizophrenics, hoboes, and now, finally, we have the winner of our unofficial "Best 'Twilight' Parody" contest. The winner? Black20, with their hilarious recreation of the "Twilight: New Moon" trailer. Read on for the winning video, my gentle Examiner readers...
At this point, we've seen so many "Twilight" parodies, it almost feels like we've seen the movie (either of 'em) ourselves (we think we even know some of the characters' names!), but fear not, Comedy Examiner readers: we have not subjected ourselves to that nonsense yet.
And now, as promised, we're selecting a winning "Twilight" parody for you out of those bajillion entries (you can see some of the ones that were in the running at the Comedy Examiner's homepage), and we have made our decision. Here it is: the winner of our "Best 'Twilight' Parody" contest:
That video comes to us from Black20, the hilarious online-only (and in definite need of a development deal) comedy group that's no stranger to funny film parodies: their version of the "300" trailer (for a "PG"-rated version of the film) was one of the funniest we've ever seen. So, congratulations go out to Black20: you've done yourselves-- and us-- proud.
"Twilight: New Moon" is currently tearing up the box office (it just beat "The Dark Knight"s midnight showing numbers and is on-track to whoop the rest of the movies in release at the box office all weekend) at theaters all over Dallas, so if emo-Vampires are your thing, get out to your local theater and settle in for all the wacky vampire-related shenanigans.
That's not all the funny "Twilight" coverage we've had this week. Be sure to check back with the Comedy Examiner's home page to see many other funny parodies and "Twilight"-related nonsense. If you're tired of "Twilight", head on over to the Comedy Examiner's homepage anyway: we've got many more funny, time-killing reading material for you there. Here, take a look at some of these other recent Comedy Examiner articles:
"Stephen Colbert compares President Obama to "Meryl Streep" on Letterman's "Late Show" (with video)-- in which we check out footage of the "Colbert Report" comedian talking about his experiences working with Obama.
"Community" star Chevy Chase to reprise his Clark Griswold role in a Superbowl ad"-- in which we look at the rumors (they're not rumors, as they're true) that Chevy Chase will take on his "Vacation" role once again for a Superbowl ad. Good or bad, folks?
"Steven Spielberg, Stephen King teaming up to bring dark comedy/horror "Under The Dome" to TV"-- in which we look at the pairing-up of Spielberg and King for the adaptation of King's new darkly humorous horror novel. Here's hoping it's one of the "good" King adaptations, huh?
"Jackass" set to earn another sequel with "Jackass 3D" (with video)"-- in which we look at the news that MTV's comedy "Jackass" has spawned an all-new sequel, this one set to appear in 3 dimensions. Oh, boy.
