Black smoke billowed from the chimney of the Sistine Chapel on Tuesday, which meant that the decision to determine who would lead billions of Catholics as the new Pope has not yet been made.
People all across the globe, be they religious or not, are watching from the sideline as to who will become the new Pope.
Ever since Pope Benedict XVI’s decision to retire, speculation has run rampant as to whole would become the new Pope.
So what happens now, you might ask?
According to Time.com, nothing more will be determined today or tonight. In fact, the cardinals involved in deciding who the new Pope will be will now return to the Vatican hotel for the remainder of the night.
Voting will pick up again on Wednesday.
While no one really knows who will ultimately become the new Pope, there are some “front-runners,” so to speak. Many feel that Cardinal Angelo Scola or Cardinal Odilo Scherer are the heavy favorites.
