Black Ops 2 Revolution DLC and the new Peacekeeper SMG

The new Black Ops 2 DLC has arrived on Xbox 360 and it plays excellently. Treyarch has made Call of Duty history by, for the first time ever, adding a new weapon. Not only a new weapon, but four new multiplayer maps and one new zombies map with a unique game mode.

The Peacekeeper is hardly an SMG. With a range higher than any other sub machine gun, the Peacekeeper has a very low rate of fire and fairly low damage. The range is quite far, and this compensates for the low damage and slow rate of fire. Five or six hits is a kill.

The diamond camo for the Peacekeeper requires all gold camos for the other SMGs, yet the Peacekeeper is not required for the other SMGs' diamond camo.

The new maps include:

  • Grind - a bright colorful southern California skate park
  • Mirage - a desert setting in the Gobi with burned out cars and a temple
  • Hydro - a multi-level hydroelectric dam with a small size that has intense dynamic changes
  • Downhill - a blast of snow and ice set in the Alps with twisting terrain

Then there is the new Zombie's map that has a brand new game mode. Turned (the new mode) is essentially a different game of tag, only zombies can possibly conceive. All players start as zombies and fight for a "cure."

The first one to get the cure becomes a human, who then must kill off the zombies. What ever zombie kills the human becomes human, and must then keep fighting off zombies. There may only be one human. After each kill, the human upgrades his/her weapons to a higher tier.

Revolution is now out on Xbox 360, but will be coming to PS3 and PC on February 26th. Be on the watch.
