Black Nativity is hosting its open casting call at MIST Harlem on February 1 from 12PM until 5PM. The Black Nativity film cast list includes Jennifer Hudson, Tyrese Gibson, Forest Whitaker, and Angela Bassett. The casting call is seeking men, women, and children to cast church-goers and Harlem residents as extras in the gospel musical based on a play by Langston Hughes. The film is slated to shoot in Harlem and other locations in New York City from February to March 15.
MIST Harlem, located at 46 West 116th Street, is a 20,000 square foot $21 million venue will consist of a 130 seat restaurant and three intimate theater spaces. It will showcase to the community an array of foods, film, live music performances, spoken word, comedy, and plays within the Black and Latino culture. MIST Harlem is also the home of Harvist a 130 seat restaurant under lead by Executive Chef Cassandra Quinlan-Ashford.
