Maryke Hendrikse, who plays the series' female protagonist, Revy, says that she is excited that one of her favorite characters is finally joining the Toonami family.

"I'm thrilled that "Black Lagoon" is going to air on Toonami. Maryke said. "I'd love the series, even if I hadn't had the immense pleasure of playing Revy. The series deserves the opportunity to gain a broader audience, and I'm really looking forward to hearing what viewers think."
