On Jan. 24, Toonami announced via Tumblr that the popular action animé series, "Black Lagoon," would begin airing on their Saturday night animé programming block starting in March.

The hit series, known for its' use of over-the-top action and coarse language, will be replacing "Soul Eater," after it ends its' run on Toonami on March 15. "Black Lagoon" follows the story of the Lagoon Company, a band of mercenaries, who while combating various cartels and crime syndicates, smuggle drugs and guns along the seas of Southeastern Asia in the early '90s.

Maryke Hendrikse, who plays the series' female protagonist, Revy, says that she is excited that one of her favorite characters is finally joining the Toonami family.

"I'm thrilled that "Black Lagoon" is going to air on Toonami. Maryke said. "I'd love the series, even if I hadn't had the immense pleasure of playing Revy. The series deserves the opportunity to gain a broader audience, and I'm really looking forward to hearing what viewers think."

You can catch "Black Lagoon" when it begins airing on Toonami on March 22.
