If you are looking to have your ears treated to a dose of electric, high octane blues infused soul then you need to find a way to get your ass to Terminal West in Atlanta this Sunday night as Black Joe Lewis and band roll into town for a night of tunes you not soon forget.
Black Joe Lewis (BJL) will hit the stage like a hurricane and by the time the frantic paced show comes to a close the crowd will be just as exhausted as the band. With multiple albums of chunky blues music out there for consumption, BJL has made a name for himself among loyal fans of blues, rock and soul music. The latest record, Electric Slave, is another brilliant collection of fuzzy guitars, soulful rhythms, raunchy lyrics and Mr. Lewis’ primal scream vocals. Look for Sunday night’s show to feature new tracks like “Young Girls”, “My Blood Ain’t Runnin’ Right” and “Come To My Party”. Don’t worry, I am sure classic BJL songs like “Booty City”, “Sugarfoot” and “Bitch, I Love You” will all find their way onto the set list, or at least I hope they do. Either way the show will not disappoint.
You are going to want to get there early because Atlanta rockers the Sundogs will be kicking things off. Their brand of blues tinged southern rock translates into one damn fine show. These guys should get the crowd jacked for the main event.
Come close out your weekend at one of Atlanta’s best venues, Terminal West, and partake in some of the most bad ass tunes that will ever cross your ear holes. Black Joe Lewis is truly a show you do not want to miss.
