Being a foodie in the city of Atlanta, where the 2010 US Census shows a 54% African American population, it seems only natural to take a moment during Black History Month and pay homage to the top black chefs--most of which I know, others of which I have heard.

The list of highly celebrated culinary all-stars begins with TV's Marvin Woods, author of "Home Plate," a cookbook and TV series.
