As the years go on and the economy continues to weaken, it comes obviously apparent that consumerism and corporatism is killing America. We here in America try to pride our self's on being civilized as we police the world to force civil democracy on other countries. But are we instead pushing a future of failure world wide as we here are coming to an end?
Black Friday is the largest shopping day of the year here in the US. All our major shopping centers and super stores have the biggest deals and sales trying to promote sales and a jump start on Christmas shopping. But what ends up happening more often then not is, the corporations make huge bucks by tossing out some feed and watching the citizens go absolutely wild.
This year there has been numerous riots over limited supplies on deals, a woman who has pepper sprayed a crowd, at least two deaths and hundreds injured due to their attempts to save a couple of bucks on things that normally they won't buy. But one of the most humorous is a video of a group of women rioting over $2 waffle makers at a Wal-Mart store (see video). The group stood licking their lips, waiting for their chance to score as many $2 waffled makers as possible. As soon as there was a go they scampered like hungry pigs to get their paws on as many waffle makers as they could carry, pushing and shoving, clawing and kicking.
The video is an excellent example of how out of control and uncivilized we really are. How exactly can 5 waffle makers bring so much pleasure to one individual as they horde unnecessary items, when meanwhile millions are peacefully dieing world wide in an orderly fashion? It's almost embarrassing to know we share a country with plump waffle hoarders who are willing to harm their own just to get one more kitchen device that will end up collecting dust. But hey, God bless America, or I mean Black Friday.
