Black Friday at Value World

When people think of Black Friday, they usually think of Walmart or Best Buy, but there other options available.

One option that people don't always think about is Value World. In different areas of the country (and Detroit is one of them), a chain of thrift stores called Value World operates.

On November 23, from 6 am until noon, everything in the store will be half off. That's right, everything. To make the deal sweeter, the first 50 people entering the store will get a 50% off coupon that can be used later this year.

A few things should be noted about Value World. It primarily sells, clothes, books, linens, dishes and small appliances and electronics. It also has a good book section and sells some children's toys. It sells very little of bigger items, such as furniture.

The non-sale prices usually are pretty low. For example, the price of five regular paperbacks (the ones that don't have separate prices on them) are five for a dollar.

They take cash and credit cards (with id), and customers cannot take shopping carts out of the store. If someone buys many items or just a bulky, heavy one, an employee will carry it to your car.
