Black Friday 2009 sales are less than a week away (see best deal item lists)

Many stores are releasing their 2009 Black Friday sales now because Thanksgiving is less than a week away and people are beginning to plan their Black Friday shopping trips. Many people want to know what items will be on sale the day after Thanksgiving. 

The day after Thanksgiving is also known as Black Friday because this is usually the first day that stores start making a profit and move from the red into the black. Almost all of the chain stores offer doorbuster deals to get people in their store, but these deals are usually limited to under 10 per stores, so if you want those items you should be prepared to get there early and run through the store to get what you want.  Otherwise, some stores offer sale prices for certain times of the day on Black Friday (for example 5-10 am or 7-12 am).

Sam’s Club released an ad and then had it removed. Check the ads in your local newspaper on Thanksgiving Day for the Sam’s Club insert.

Black Friday Store Hours:

Walmart opens at 6 am on Thanksgiving Day and will stay open through Black Friday, November 27.

Sam’s Club will open at 5 am on Black Friday.

Toys R Us opens at midnight on Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving).

Best Buy will open at 5 am on Black Friday, and will issue tickets within two hours of opening (each store decides what time those tickets will be issued).

Store paper ads for Black Friday will be in your local newspaper on Sunday and Thanksgiving Day.
