'Black Eyed Peas' Super Bowl half time show great on the eyes, hurt the ears

The Super Bowl 2011 was memorable for a few things, the game the Packers played, Christina Aguilera forgetting a line in the national anthem, and a fantastic visual Super Bowl half time show with the singing like nails on a chalk board.

Christina Aguilera did a great job and, yes she forgot a few words in a very hard song and now this is making headline news today. The real surprise was the Super Bowl half time show where the singing took away from the extraordinary show.

One writer predicted that “The Black Eyed Peas” would be the worst ever half time show and he was right. Saul Relative of Associated Content saw this one coming before the Super Bowl had their kick off.  Saul commented on their inability to sound the same as their recordings in a live show. He said “you are in for an eye-opening confrontation with the definition of terrible.”

The man with the voice, Usher, basically did a cameo in the half time show. The mistake was not making him the headliner. Fergie’s voice was surprisingly rough and strained. She is a beauty, so putting her out in front pleases the eye, but the ears did suffer.

Connecticut foot ball fans appear to be gravitating more to at home Super Bowl parties than celebrating the night in the local sports bars, according to the Connecticut Post. They give an example of one sports bar in Seymour, Connecticut where years ago they would have to turn away patrons due to over crowding on Super Bowl Sunday. Today, Barone Sports Café will still see a substantial crowd, but not like earlier years. Connecticut residents appear to be flocking more to home parties today, according to the Post.

The halftime show was horrible. So bad.

I thought I was watching a SNL parody of Christina.
Maybe the celeb's need to understand it's all about the song , and not about the singer .

Why are all the Entertainment media writers rushing to Christina's defense? A hard song? My 7 year old can sing it. I love when the stadium announcer starts - "here to honor America.." and then she screws up our National Anthem, no honor there.

i liked the show, you can't blame the Peas that thr sound guy was off, they all had to screen to be heard!! GO BEP!!!

Fergie butchered GnR's song. Even Slash's solo and Usher's choreo couldnt save it.
Yea, the visuals were good. But the show as whole flopped.

    Wayyy too much AutoTuning.

OMGoodness, BEP were so incredibly bad! Fergie sounded like a roach, WilI I am looked like one. The 2 unnecessaries were so as usual. None of them looked happy; all looked dead in the eyes. DON'T BLAME THE SOUND GUY. They are veterans in the game. They should know how to sound good if there is some sound flub.

Great visuals beyond the group...who really looked rediculous. I wonder why the Peas are popular...they are truly terrible....none of them can sing! That was the worst half time show in history. At least Usher and Slash broght some music to the performance.

I loved the half-time show! You all need to get a life and stop complaining about everything!!!

Although I wouldn't pay to see them in concert, I thought their performance was pretty good.

I can't believe people actually listen to them. That may have been the worst performance I have ever heard anywhere, ever!!! Soundman?!?!?!!? You must be kidding. Clearly none of them can sing at all unless in a studio with a massive dose of effects to clean up their horrible voices. What a bunch of crap!
