The Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History (CHWMAAH) and Black Documentary Television hosted a public viewing event March 10, 2013 and the 2013 and re-dedication of the 200 award winning documentary “Detroit’s Westsider’s”.
In 1999 Carlton T. Stanton of Black Documentary Television was the Executive Director of the of the Detroit Cable communications Commission.
“Detroit Westsiders” was written by the late Detroit WWJ-TV4 Newscaster / Anchor/ Reporter Jerry blocker.
The Sunday, March 10th event from 1:00 PM – 4:00 p.m. officially kicked-off the 2013 documentary series “The Four Sides of Detroit”, which premiered at the Charles H. Wright.

Black Documentary Television will donate a copy of the documentary and a copy of the Detroit Westsider’s book, “The Westsiders ‘Our Story’ A Collection of Remembrances of Life on the Westside of Detroit, and the Accomplishments of Those who Came from Humble Beginnings”-co-written by Marian Stephens, Keith Alexander, and Michael “Tiger” Price, to the archives of the Charles H. Wright Museum of African-American History.
The event opened amongst a frenzy of free activity at the museum and was a huge success.
