Black Berry, What's that?

For most people the phone of choice is an iPhone or Android based OS. Some probably are not even aware that Black Berry is still around and making phones. For the others out there that are loyal fans of their “crack-berry’s” are thrilled to see they may finally have a device that competes with the top two phone OS’s.

The real question now, how does it stack up? Well, with 2GB of RAM it is positioned on par with some good android phones out there. That surpasses the 1GB RAM in the iPhone 5.

Sized at 4.2” screen, it is similar to the iPhone5 4” screen size. But, it is still smaller than the Android S3 and Nexus 4. According Joanna Stern at ABC, the Black Berry has a dual core processor, if this is the case, then it is still slower than the Nexus 4.

Just like the iPhone, its OS is proprietary in nature and not flexible for “tinkering” with. This alone can be a downgrade for those die hard programmers out there.

Now, for the interesting part, it does come with a removable battery, while Google left that out on the Nexus 4 (Why Google?).

The camera does have a 8-megapixel, however, not very impressive with the low light according to Stern.

The question now becomes, will the Black Berry Z10 be a game changer, well, probably not but it can be a good start for a phone that has lost some market share over the past few years.
