Oreo, now known as Izzard, is currently in foster care after being rescued from death row at Greenville County Animal Care Services in upstate South Carolina. Here is Oreo's Facebook thread. Izzard, who has already been neutered, tells his story below.

Hi, my name is Izzard. I am a mellow cat who likes to play with string and eat and sleep and be pet and just be a cat.

My foster mom thinks I'm part Siamese because I love to talk. I am adored by my foster family but unfortunately for them, I don't care for dogs. They scare me so I defend myself which means in not allowed to roam the house.

My foster parents tried to make up for that by teaching me how to walk on a leash so I can explore sometimes. I don't love the leash, but I'm pretty much used to it now.

However, I really want a home where I can sit with my parent and have the whole house to enjoy. I promise I'll never pee anywhere but the litter box (ask my foster mom--I'm trustworthy!) and I will love you unconditionally.

I'm only about 6-8 years old so I still have plenty of years to give you. Please contact my foster mom or the Greenville County shelter if you are interested in giving me a home to call my own, and then foster mom can help another kitty that needs to be saved.

My mom is Jamie A. Rose Sims and you can call her at 864-752-5585.
