The truth is we still have many children today in need on foster families and adopting parents, so this new "Annie" may educate others on the need in our current society. In Fort Lauderdale Floirda we know a gay couple, one a drama teacher, and his partner who just left a secure job of many years to be home with more kids. They have raised a few kids over the last few years through a special program offered by Kids In Distress.

It is important to compare the story of Annie to this real life today. The local drama teacher and his long time partner have joined a program that allows them to host a child, who is in the system in need of parents. The program allows the real parent to find work, a home... while foster parents take care of the child. This was the first Christmas the couple has had a very young girl. Just the other day on the local news teenage girls were spotlighted, as they are in need of foster parents or parents to adopt them. The story spotlighted Kids In Distress ( working with Forvever Family and struck so hard, that Annie was at the top of the Broadway Global top must see list.

Also, Lauren Fermica the Community Relations Manger for FLCT and a very close acquaintance, choreographer Ron Hutchins worked in tandem to put on Disney's Aladdin at Kids In Distress. Another true life Annie story came to mind of a little girl, who had blisters on her ankle. Ron said; "When you are home, wear socks to heal the blister." The little girl replied - "This is home" Ron had no idea that some of the kids actually lived at the location, while waiting for foster families. Ron and Lauren are both thankful to have had this wonderful opportunity to bring performing arts to these children, supporting the mission of FLCT "Teaching the Art of Life through the Magic of Theatre". M for magic stands for many things..

The "M" - "Much" need for parents, is still an issue we must face in America.
