Computers have become a part of just about everyone's lives these days. Threats to computer security are therefore a very serious matter. Computer users in Syracuse who have been experiencing problems with viruses which their standard anti-virus software is having trouble getting rid of should take note of concerns about a new hybrid virus pointed out by BitDefender.
Bitdefender has a description of the firm as being the defenders of the new digital world. BitDefender says the firm is awake, always on guard, working to protect more than 400 million users across the globe with award-winning technologies. The firm goes in to state it is "here to defend the welfare of all users, no matter the platform, the nature of the user nor the magnitude of the challenge," while helping the good prevail. It has been reported by Bryan Bishop for the Verge "Computer viruses infecting worms to create hybrid 'Frankenmalware,' says BitDefender."
According to security research firm BitDefender various types of malware may now be infecting each other to create a new breed of security risk. Dubbed "Frankenmalware," these hybrids are said to be created when a virus infects a machine that has already been compromised by a worm. The new virus attaches itself to executable files on the host system, including the worm, and when the latter spreads it carries the virus along with it. BitDefender claims it has discovered 40,000 different examples of the new breed from the analysis of a sample of 10 million pieces of malware.
