On Wednesday, August 6, Murray Hill's popular Italian restaurant, Bistango (29th St. and 3rd Ave.), will open its third location in the lobby of the Kimberly Hotel, a luxury boutique hotel in Midtown (50th St. between Lexington and Third Aves). Due to popular demand, the restaurant opened their second location on Manhattan's Upper East Side (Third Ave. between 80th and 81st St.) in April.

Since 1988, Bistango has been known for its appetizing Italian fare, casual atmosphere, and gracious hospitality in addition to focused attention on their customers' evolving attitude to living a healthy lifestyle. Fresh sustainable ingredients are essential to healthy cooking and Bistango takes this life-affirming approach to heart every day. Since 2006, Bistango has offered its customers the option of tasty and quality-made Gluten-Free pastas, stuffed pastas, pizza, bread, desserts, cocktails and beer in addition to regular menu items, with no cross contamination.

Some popular selections include: Bistango Salad (Tuscan kale, arugula, shaved red onion, endive, avocado, drunken goat cheese, and lemon olive oil), Homemade Flatbreads with Imported Italian Gluten-Free Flour (prosciutto, arugula, chive blossoms, and fresh ricotta is a favorite), Stuffed Spinach Ravioli (with roasted garlic and crushed amoretti), Sugo with Tagliatelle Braised Short Ribs (served in red wine and marinara sauce), and Creekstone Farm's Hanger Steak (with asparagus, red scallions, piquillo peppers, potato, garlic, lemon and oregano) to name a few. Bistango's menu at all three locations will be updated seasonally.

Set to open this week, Bistango at the Kimberly will be located on the lobby level of the hotel. Through the revolving hotel doors, guests will pass by a brand new, exquisite cylinder aquarium, which is now the largest in Manhattan and made famous by National Geographic Wild's Fish Tank Kings. They will enter through glass wine cellar walls into a tucked away 'Red Room' eatery, which will offer cozy respite just steps away from the bustle of Midtown Manhattan.

"Bistango at the Kimberly will be a welcome addition to our newly renovated lobby and the perfect counterpart to our year-round rooftop lounge, Upstairs," says Mujo Perezic, General Manager of The Kimberly Hotel. "We are excited to offer both our hotel guests and frequent visitors another fine dining establishment."

The rich wood floors and bright red walls radiate elegance and warmth. The walls are adorned with vintage-style candelabra and oil paintings that will be changed out to depict each season. Bistango at the Kimberly will provide an intimate dining experience with seating for 40 people at deep brown Moooi tables with throne-like gold and rich wood chairs. A private dining area is also available for parties of up to six people. The open kitchen and large brick flatbread oven at the center of the restaurant will allow diners to enjoy the aroma of freshly baked breads and seasonings from the stove, welcoming them into the experience for which they came.

Bistango at the Kimberly will offer popular menu items from the original location as well as new additions including Black Rice Risotto, Crispy Chickpea and Piqullo Pepper Fritters (a vegetarian option served with Romano beans) and Wild Sockeye Salmon (a seasonal option flown in weekly from Bristol Bay Alaska) served in a sophisticated setting. The cocktail menu will also be available for guests in the lobby lounge right outside the restaurant, offering café-style seating for 20 people. Bistango at the Kimberly will be open Monday through Saturday for lunch from 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM and for dinner from 4:00 PM - 11:00 PM. The restaurant will be closed on Sunday. Bistango at the Kimberly, as with its other locations, will offer delivery and will be available for catering, events and private parties.
