BISSELL announces Most Valuable Pet Contest

BISSELL Homecare, Inc. announces its third annual Most Valuable Pet Contest, looking for America’s most photogenic pet. Entries are open from January 1 – March 25, 2010. The grand prize includes the opportunity to be featured on the BISSELLA Pet Hair Eraser vacuum packaging, a $10,000 donation to the winner’s pet charity of choice, and a “Perfect For You And Your Pet” $500 shopping spree, courtesy of BISSELL.

Over 100,000 pets have entered this contest during 2008 and 2009. BISSELL is expecting even more entries this year. Submit your pets’ photo, then solicit votes from fellow pet lovers, family, and friends. The top five pets each week move onto the semi-finals, from which the grand-prize winner will be selected. There will be second through fifth place prizes as well. Winners will be announced through Twitter and Facebook. Custom widgets can be uploaded to blogs and social networking sites to help owners garner votes for their pets.

Norman, the 2009 Grand Prize winner from Columbus, Ohio is a golden retriever and is a breeder for the service dog program “4 Paws For Ability.” He and is handler, Tara Driscoll, used the prize money to obtain a seizure dog to assist two special needs children in their community.
