Bisons tie Canada West hockey playoff series with Dinos

According to the Canadian Interuniversity Sport website, the University of Manitoba Bisons defeated the University of Calgary Dinos 3-2 on Saturday in overtime to tie their best-out-of-three Canada West Conference men's ice hockey semi-final series at one game apiece.

Right winger Jordan DePape of Winnipeg scored the game winning goal at 13:05 of the extra period from Taylor Dickin.

The Bisons bounced back and forced the third and deciding game tonight at the Father David Bauer Arena after losing 5-1 to the Dinos on Friday evening. The Dinos-Bisons winner will play the University of Alberta Golden Bears in the Canada West Men's Hockey Championship this evening with a start time of 6:00 p.m.

The Golden Bears defeated the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds 6-2 in Edmonton on Saturday to win the other Canada West semi-final 2-0.

The 2014 Canada West Men's Hockey Championship will be a best-of-three series from March 7-9 in Edmonton.
