The Buffalo Bisons make their only trip of the 2014 Triple-A International League season to Toledo, Ohio to take on the Mud Hens Thursday through Sunday, June 12th through 15th.
The Mud Hens, the Triple-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, play their home games at Fifth Third Field, located at 406 Washington St. in Toledo. The ballpark, opened in 2002, seats just over 10,000 spectators.
The Mud Hens are in their second tour as affiliate of the Tigers since returning to Triple-A in 1965 (they also had a Triple-A team from 1946 to 1955): the first from 1967 to 1973, and the current since 1987. They have also been affiliated with the Minnesota Twins (1978-1986), the Cleveland Indians (1976-1977), the Philadelphia Phillies (1974-1975), and the New York Yankees (1965-1966).
Fifth Third Field features "The Roost," selected in 2007 by ESPN.com as the best seats to a watch a minor league baseball game from; it also named one of the best minor league ballparks in America by Newsweek in 2002. The stadium also features three party suites, accommodating 18 people each; sliding doors in between allow the suites to become one room for up to 54 people.
Single-game tickets start at $10; standing room only tickets are available for select games. Group tickets and picnic packages are available for groups of 25 or more. For more information on the Mud Hens and Fifth Third Field, visit the Mud Hens’ website.
