Right now, a panel of four judges for each category are reading all the nominated books books and, in March, will narrow them down to a list of three to five finalists. The finalists will be announced in the second half of March. The judges will then select a winner from the list of finalists and all the winners will be announced in early June at the 25th Annual Lambda Literary Awards Ceremony.

*For the Lammy Awards, books can only be nominated by the publisher or author of the book. Becoming a finalist is what indicates the judges deemed the book to be special. And of course, being a winner means the same thing at any awards show.
