Chunky chocolate biscotti from 9th Street Bakery in Durham, NC takes on a world of richness when dipped in milk. An otherwise light, crisp cookie, these biscotti come alive when soaked with the flowing white goodness of milk.

If you prefer a vanilla cookie with almonds and a splash of citrus, you’ll like 9th Street Bakery’s orange and almond biscotti. Light and crumbly, this flavor is absolutely delectable when dunked in coffee.

9th Street Bakery is primarily a wholesale bakery servicing many local businesses.  The bakery also offers a retail shop so you can swing by for a quick bite to eat. Their front entrance is quite nostalgic, reminiscent of loading docks from decades past.  Once you enter the bakery you are greeted with quite a scene. You will immediately notice the hustle and bustle behind the sales counter.

This is one of the largest bakeries visible to customers. As you digest the extent of the bakery’s work, your eyes will begin to peruse the cases and shelves of goodies.  For the most part, 9th Street Bakery offers a traditional selection of mainstream American baked goods: muffins, cookies, cinnamon rolls, scones, browning, deli sandwiches and of course, bread.

Should you be in downtown Durham, stop by the bakery at the intersection of East Chapel Hill Street and West Main Street. It is one block from the Durham Performing Arts Center. The entrance is within a cinder block-lined parking lot.
