The Inaugural tours will begin on Saturday, August 9th, 2014. Three tours will began at the stage in the Copper Queen Plaza, and one of the tours will start at St. Patrick’s Church on Higgins Hill. Your tour guides will be dressed in period clothing, depicting the era when Bisbee was a boom-town.

The walking tours will cover Lower Tombstone Canyon, Main Street, Howell Avenue and Brewery Gulch. A chilling “Historical Haunted Tour” will also be offered. The haunted tour is based on Bisbee Native, Francine Powers’ (aka Fran Maklary) book, “Mi Reina: Don’t Be Afraid”. All of the tours are restricted to the commercial district of Old Bisbee.

Powers stated, “This book is my personal diary of my life with the supernatural while growing up in Bisbee.” She added, “It has always been important to me to keep the history of my hometown true and alive.” The book was first published in 2003 and is on its second print contract.

The historical tours will begin on August 9th with a kickoff book signing event featuring Francine Powers at 10:00 A.M. Come out for a “Meet and Greet” with western actor Dave Hight, also appearing at the 10:00 A.M. event. This will all take place at the stage area and will continue throughout the day in between tours.

Hight is a full-time professional actor who has had parts in 16 movies and has appeared in 45 TV spots and seven commercials and 15 videos world-wide. You can see Hight in the Westerns, “The Gundown” and “Ambush at Dark Canyon”, on NETFLIX now.

You may recognize Hight as one of the regular actors at the “OK Corral” in Tombstone, Arizona. He usually portrays the notorious Ike Clanton. The actor has a background of Dinner Theater and performed in Bisbee for four years.

The first tour of the day will begin at St. Patrick’s church at 11:00 A.M.-12:00P.M. (remember where you parked your car as the tour ends near the Grand Hotel.) The second tour will be from 1:00 P.M. – 2:00 P.M. The third tour will be from 2:30 P.M.-4:00 P.M. and the fourth tour will run from 4:30 P.M.-6:00 P.M.

Ticket prices for short tours are $10.00; Long tour prices are $12.00. Bisbee residents receive a two dollar discount on all tickets.
