French-born guitarist/composer Stephane Wrembel is perhaps best known for his Gypsy Jazz performances. Woody Allen sought Wrembel out to score the 2012 Academy Award-winning film Midnight in Paris, and he performed at that year's Oscars. He had previously written a song for Allen's 2008 film Vicky Cristina Barcelona. Wrembel released his fifth album, entitled Origins, in 2012.

The Minneapolis rock duo of Yuichiro Matthew Kazama and Hideo Takahashi formed the Birthday Suits in the spring of 2005 and released their debut album Cherry Blue later that year. The Minneapolis/St. Paul media have taken notice. The band was named the Twin Cities "Best Live Artist" in 2006. The band has put out a number of split singles, compilations, and albums since, and their following and positive reviews have spread across the U.S. Check out music from the band in the nearby video.
