Sunday, BP announced that they were releasing birds that were found covered in oil from the spill in the Gulf of Mexico; a northern gannet and brown pelicans that were rescued, cleaned and flown by military aircraft to a bird refuge in Tampa Bay, Florida.
With as many as 19,000 barrels of oil per day leaking into the ocean many more birds and animals are being found alive that have been covered in oil along the Louisiana coast. And most of the dead birds are not covered in oil, according to the Miami Herald.
Sunday, Carol Browner, the assistant to President Obama on energy and climate change said that this oil spill is "probably the biggest environmental disaster we've ever faced in this country."
Most likely the full effects of the oil spill are not even known, and it may take years until they are completely known.

Researchers from the University of Utah have tested several ways to separate oil from the water, and several have discovered that making the separation in a small container may be easy, but trying it on a larger scale is much more difficult. They also stated that because the ocean water is constantly moving it makes the process even more difficult, according to a recent news report from KSL.

Indian point plant in NY is leaking . Both radioactive CANCER causing nuclear radiation into the water. The Republicans who are owned by OIL,GAS,NUCLEAR energy companies are pushing hard to build more. Means more $ a month for them. They just got 58 billion in loan guarantees from the taxpayers. We are funding our own CANCER. What a scam. Very sad. But the important thing is they keep making their billions. Thats all that really matters.
