As announced yesterday on the Bioware blog, Bioware is hosting a Mass Effect 3 multiplayer event known as Operation: LODESTAR. The event lasts from the 5th of March (the day it was announced) to the 10th. This is a tiered event, with the top three tiers receiving the following:
- 1st tier – Commendation Pack.
- 2nd tier – A second bonus Commendation Pack and a banner, (“Stood Fast, Stood Strong, Stood Together”)
- 3rd tier – A third bonus Commendation Pack.
That's all well and good, but you may be wondering how, exactly, you get into each of the tiers. The answer to that is simple enough. For the first tier, you simply need to participate in the event. The second tier is a bit harder, however, as you must complete missions and extract successfully against not one, not two, but all four of the enemy factions on at least Silver difficulty. The final tier is similar, however much harder, as you must complete and extract from missions against the factions on Platinum difficulty.
With this event, Admiral Hackett hopes to end the war. Will the N7 assaults be successful? And if so, will the good Admiral's wishes be fulfilled? Or will the war continue, causing even more loss of life? The mission's success or failure is on your shoulders. Good luck on the battlefield!
