Oropeza is on a 5-fight win streak, fighting for promotion top MMA promotions like Matrix Fights and Bellator MMA in the process. All 5 of those victories, were finishes within the first 2 rounds (3 TKO, 2 Submission). Oropeza holds a Pro MMA record of 10-2 and has been one of, if not THE top Welterweight prospect on the East Coast. His most recent fight, he fought at Bellator MMA 108 in Atlantic City, NJ where he won via TKO over Chip Moraza-Pollard within 37 seconds of the first round. He will be taking on the former UFC veteran Joe Riggs.

Riggs has an impressive Pro MMA record of 40-14, and has even fought as a Heavyweight before. Riggs has notable victories over TUF 3 winner Kendall Grove, TUF 4 runner-up Chris Lytle, UFC Welterweight contender Nick Diaz, and even Phil "New York Badass" Baroni. Riggs won his most recent bout via Unanimous Decision over Mike Bronzoulis, to become the Fight Master: Bellator MMA Season 1 Champion. Riggs will have his hands full with this rising star in Oropeza though. Oropeza has been making a name for himself, and with so much fight experience Riggs shouldn't underestimate Oropeza's finishing ability.
