World Day of Prayer
World Day of Prayer is a worldwide movement of Christian women of many traditions who come together to observe a common day of prayer each year, and who, in many countries, have a continuing relationship in prayer and service. The 2012 World Day of Prayer will be held on Friday the 2nd of March and will be prepared by the women of Malaysia with the theme “Let Justice Prevail”. Local observances include:
- Main Street Baptist Church, 117 Main Street, Binghamton, N.Y. The service will be held Friday, March 2, at 9:00 a.m. Tickets are $5.00 each. Call 607-723-0031 or 607-748-9011 for more information.
- Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 700 West Main Street, Endicott, N.Y. The service will be conducted Friday, March 2, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. There is no charge. Call 607-748-7417 for more information.
- Lodi Presbyterian Church, Route 414, Lodi, N.Y. The service will be held Friday, March 2, at 11:30 a.m. There is no charge. A light lunch will be provided. Call 607-585-6125 for more information.
- Spaghetti Dinner, First Baptist Church of Owego, 228 Main Street, Owego, N.Y., 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Dinners are $7.00 for adults, $4.00 for children, $20.00 for a family of 4 or more. The church’s sanctuary, fellowship hall and meeting rooms were destroyed by last year’s flood. Proceeds will be used to aid the rebuilding effort.
