British Airways and HBO have joined forces to keep passengers entertained on long-haul flights. A new dedicated on demand channel features Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire, True Blood, Girls, True Detective, Looking, and Curb Your Enthusiasm. The HBO channel will also offer movies.
The airline’s customized in-flight HBO channel took off on April 3, allowing passengers to watch HBO’s stable of hits at 30,000 feet. In fact, video-loving fliers don’t even have to wait for pushback and takeoff. According to British Airways, passengers are cleared to binge-watch HBO from boarding to landing on long-haul flights.
Serious watchers can check BA’s Highlife Entertainment website to see what’s playing on their next flight and even download a schedule planner.
The HBO offerings join British Airways' existing in-flight branded channels including The History Channel, Discovery, BBC, and National Geographic. Traditional onboard entertainment news, games, and the ever-popular moving map will also continue on the airline’s long-distance flights. Of course, sleep remains an in-flight entertainment option, especially for passengers flying British Airways in business and first class cabins featuring seats that convert to lie-flat beds.
