Bindi Irwin has high hopes for her partnership with SeaWorld Parks

In the years since the tragic death of "Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin, many of his devoted fans have hoped for the day when his children would take up the torch of conservation and education that he shared with the world on his hit television show. Luckily, that time has finally come, as his daughter, Bindi, has recently signed on to be one of the animal ambassadors for SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment.

During a break in her busy schedule, Bindi took a few moments to share her thoughts on the future of animal conservation, as well as the possibility of increased television time for one of the heirs to the "Crocodile Hunter" khakis.

1) How do you feel SeaWorld Kids will help children interact with the natural world?

"I am so excited to be part of the brand new initiative Generation Nature, inspiring kids to be game changers for wildlife and wild places. Kids can visit and get fantastic ideas of how to get involved and start making a difference today. Each month I come to the website with a new webisode talking about an animal and why I love them, then I give ideas of how kids at home can start protecting this animal! This month is all about sea turtles. I want to encourage kids to get outside and clean up their world. By organizing a clean up the beach day with their friends or recycling, it all helps to make a big difference on planet earth. My goal is to have kids around the world fall in love with wildlife and empower others to want to be the change they wish to see in the world."

2) What are your goals with Generation Nature?

"Generation Nature is a project I’m so passionate about because I’m a believer in kid empowerment. We are the next voters, the next decision makers and the next generation changing the world. There’s never been a better time to start creating positive change in the world, which is why I wanted to get involved.

3) How do you think your father would feel about your partnership with the SeaWorld family?

"For a lot of kids they feel as though they are one person, so how could they help? Well, my dad was one man who changed the world, and if one man can make a difference, YOU can make a difference."

4) Are your mother and brother also involved in the project?

"I’m so thrilled to be part of Generation Nature, and I feel very blessed to always have the love and support of my mum and brother. As a family we want to do everything we can to ensure that dad’s message lives on forever."

5) Do you anticipate that this relationship will benefit Australia Zoo?

"Generation Nature is all about supporting conservation projects around the world. Including, working with our own non-profit organization Wildlife Warriors. By working together, we can accomplish so much more for wildlife and wild places."

6) Is there any chance of a new "Crocodile Hunter" starring Bindi Irwin in the future?

"As I get older I want to start tackling bigger issues facing the world today like talking about the non-consumptive use of wildlife. I also want to continue with more filming work. I’m looking forward to many more projects in the future."
