Bindi Irwin, at 14, will star in “Return to Nim’s Island, a sequel to the 2008 movie, "Nim's Island." The gorgeous teen also has several other jobs on the line, while she maintains a normal – she says – teen life. The New York Daily News reports the story on Tuesday, March 12.
Bindi Irwin, now 14 and living in Australia, is the daughter of Steve Irwin, the “Crocodile Hunter” who was killed by a sting ray back in 2006. She has dedicated her life to conservation and projects to save animals. "The older I get, the more I want to tackle the issues people don't want to talk about," Bindi told Australia’s Associated Press.
She will get her chance. Besides the movie, she is starring as a host on the Hallmark Channel. She did a couple of shows as a child, but now she is all grown up – well, almost. She will be the face of Hallmark's Friday night movie showcase for family entertainment.
And is she living a normal teenage life? That’s another story. Well, almost. "I have friends,” Bindi says, “who come to the Australia Zoo, and it's just instead of playing video games, we get to hug and kiss a giraffe, or walk a tiger." Sure, that’s normal.
"My life is certainly not common, but I think of myself as … a 'normal' teenager." A teenager soon to appear in a full-length film. This is probably just the start. Watch Bindi grow.
