Bimbo allowed to stay home.

On January 18th the Minister, Terry Lakes, has decided to allow Janet Schwartz keep her beloved pet. Bimbo the deer was rescued by Janet back when Bimbo was only a fawn. In 2009 the Ministry demanded she set the deer free, but the woman fought the case and it seemed like she had won her case; however just recently Janet has been scrutinized once again about keeping a deer as a pet.

Ms. Schwartz will be working closely with a provincial veterinarian and conservation officer to ensure that Bimbo is receiving the best care possible considering the situation. The veterinarian was concerned about the stresses put on Bimbo if they were to relocate her to a conservation park, especially since Bimbo is currently pregnant.

Janet has been living with Bimbo for 10 years and considers her part of the family, allowing the doe to sleep in the bed with her and the family dog.
